I really believe that robots are going to be a huge success in the future. What could be better house hold item than a robot, that would clean, keep quard, and watch over the house and do many of the things that need to be done in a house.
best robot today is probably honda’s Asimo. Watch the video to find out some of it’s amazing features.
At this point this kind of robots are quite expensive, but in mass production the price would go down dramatically. After all the robot it’s not that complicated. it’s the software that is complicated. And when the software gains new features, all of the robots could be updated to these new features. So the point is not thing what they are today, but what they could be in future. Asimo already shows that they could be great. Hondas idea to do the RnD with robots it a intelligent step. it is going to see the problems first hand and patent some of the key features for future robotics revolution.
At first I would see that the Asimo price would go down to car price level, luxury car. So maybe 100thousand euros. At this point maybe universities or other rich companies could buy it. But soon it would go down to 20thousand range, at this point it’s better alternative to a security quard wandering the halls of hospital or other big factory or warehouses. It needs no sleep, no holidays, it doesn’t steal.
it’s going to happen, there is no doubt about it. But how soon?.. we didn’t have ipods at year 2000…. it’s probably within ten years that robotics are going to be a huge thing. After all it’s a whole new group of things to buy. Couple of years ago there was no robots at all in households. today there is lawn moving robots, vacuum robots. The whole sector is going to expand very rapidly in near future.
The same thing is already happening in manufacturing plants, robots are taking over the manufacturing lines.
Belkin bluetooth music receiver is a very small black box that you can hook to your stereo system and send music to it from mobile phone or laptop. It works great. Easy to install and to pair with laptop or mobile phone. The problem is the sound quality. Its pretty good and better than laptops speakers, but it has no match against laptop connected via cable to the stereo. I listened many different songs with both ways and the bluetooth connection is missing something from the high frequencies. Its hollow and empty. Somehow cold sounding. If the song has singer with piercing high end vocal sound, the sound is just hollow and empty.
Also there has been many people complaining about the range it can carry. Didnt test that. Most testing was with 1m. So the distance didnt cause the problem with sound. Its just a fact that bluetooth cannot carry the full cd level quality sound. And that is a real shame as the idea works great. Listening youtube from laptop and sound coming from stereo system. Nothing better than that. I wonder is there any way to carry full cd level quality to stereo system? Wlan?. I am amazed if it doest exist.
Late addition: I tried to find music that best shows the lack in quality. Best way is to find a mp3 or youtube video that is pure white noise and play that. it just doesn’t sound right. White noise should contain all the frequencies, but through the bluetooth device it sounds metallic and hollow. Not how it should sound. It should sound balanced. Even though it just noise, it should sound right.
I made video that shows how the white noise is first incorrect, but half way the video changes to cable and the white noise sounds like white noise should sound.
great video about Pikes Peak
I purchased Polaris Glacier plow with front attach kit. Problem with polaris 800EFI sportsman is that the front suspension is quite soft and this causes the front to sag pretty much when the plow is raised up. and when you lower the plow to the ground the front end gets back up. Also driving with the plow up causes the ground clearance to be very small, quite hard to drive to lake over some off road with the plow when you don’t have ground clearance under the front end.
Video shows the quick attach DIY tightening kit, that tightens the preload 21mm. This causes the front to drive little higher and also makes the front sag less when the plow is lifted up.
You need spring compressors to install these, but no need to even take the tyre off.
Other lift kit possibility is to add the lift at top of the suspension, but this causes the maximum spring out length to increase and this causes problems with the CV joints. with preload add only, the maximum suspension out length is kept as standard, only the preload is increased.
Polaris sporstman 800 efi clutch has been probably designed to work in all kinds of driving. So it is a major compromise. It is taking off almost from idle speed. This is probably because its quite easy to drive that way, but it makes gear change problems if the clutch is already hooking up at idle. I changed the main spring to so called ‘white’ spring. The original is blue/green. The difference it makes is amazing. It totally changed how the clutch works. The gear change is very smooth and acceleration is better. Its easier to hop the front wheels over some ditch. It also keeps the revs little higher. So it makes it easier to crawl. At hard surface it little tricker happy. Probably the reason polaris didnt use thi set up from the factory as its suprising to beginners.
nice video comparing siri artificial intelligence voice recognition vs microsofts Tellme, which should be similar. how ever there is some functional differencies.
The first tasks.. follow what the Tellme device searches for…
